SAN DIEGO, June 9, 2012 – Will we witness boxing history tonight?

Tonight’s fight between boxing superstar Manny Pacquiao and undefeated challenger Timothy Bradley has the potential to be a life-changing event with a Bradley upset. But a decisive Pacquiao victory could set up the big showdown with Floyd Mayweather fans have dreamed about.

True fans of the Sweet Science are counting down the hours. And so are we at Communities.

Join us for a live fight chat online covering the action for you right here on Communities at Washington Times. We will get the party started with undercard fights at 9 p.m. Eastern, 6 p.m. Pacific Time, with the main event scheduled at approximately 11 p.m. Eastern, 8 p.m. Pacific.

If you are also watching Game 7 of the NBA finals, you won’t have to make a tough choice. The start of the Pacquiao-Bradley fight will be held until the game is concluded so fans won’t miss any action. Pacquiao is a big Boston Celtics fan, so he’ll be watching too.

Pacquiao needs to bury the seeds of doubt sown during his narrow split decision victory against Juan Manuel Marquez in November 2011, a fight many observers include me believed Marquez won.

Bradley, undefeated at 28-0, is the current light welterweight champion coming up to the 147-pound limit welterweight class for his shot at star status. A win against Pacquiao would turn boxing upside down and change Bradley’s life forever.

There is plenty of buzz about the potential for a Bradley victory. Bradley is younger, fresher, and his desire and intensity is off the charts. But someone who should know, Pacquiao’s former foe Marquez, says Pacquaio will win.

Topping the undercard is Jorge Arce in a super-bantamweight bout against Jesus Rojas. Arce should have no trouble against Rojas. Mike Jones should also take care of Randall Bailey for the vacant IBF welterweight title.

The bout is available for viewing on HBO pay-per-view. If you aren’t an HBO subscriber, another great way to watch the PPV is online. You can purchase and watch directly from Top Rank at http://www.toprank.tv

Floyd Mayweather has to miss this one. The Clark County Detention Center will probably be watching an old episode of “Cops.” But you can catch it all with us. See you ringside on Saturday.
